About "Team YOLO"
Six years ago, three girls wanted to make a difference. They decided that they would compete in obstacle course races while raising money for a local charity. It was at that moment that "Team YOLO" was "born". Much research was done when "Team YOLO" discovered "The Morgan Center" (TMC). TMC is the only free pre-school for children who are undergoing cancer treatments.
Since inception “Team YOLO” has grown from a "strong" squad of 3 to an even "stronger" squad of 70! Each year, YOLO raised the bar. In 2017 alone “Team YOLO” raised over $106,000!
Team YOLO has gained the support, built partnerships and secured sponsorships from businesses and corporations including Bulldough, Lifetime Fitness, Synergy, Lululemon, Sterling Bank & Apple Bank. In Spring of 2017, Team YOLO was invited to take part of the studio audience of "The Ellen Show" in Burbank, CA. In August 2017, former New York Yankees Manager, Joe Girardi, spoke at a press conference about YOLO Strong and the funds and awareness we are bringing to small but special charities.
In November of 2017 (with much anticipation and excitement) “Team YOLO” formed an official 501(c)(3), "YOLO Strong Foundation". The goal will be to assist children and their families in times of hardships due to illness. We believe our power is in our hearts and in our numbers. We are just getting started!
The YOLO Strong Foundation's 2018 goal is to assist “The Morgan Center” as well as raise funds and awareness for “Danny’s Wish” who provide iPads for children with autism. In addition to these two amazing charities, “YOLO Strong” will also be supporting families in hardship brought to us by “Contractors for Kids”, “Angela's House” and “St. Dominic's Outreach”.
